Three ways to register your teen
Pick the channel that's easiest — registration is free.
M-PESA GO mini-app
Open the M-PESA App → Financial Services → M-PESA GO. Enter your PIN and your teen's details.
Web portal
Visit safaricom.com/mpesa-go, enter your number and ID, then upload the teen's birth certificate.
Any Safaricom Shop
Walk in with your ID and the teen's birth certificate or passport. Staff will register on the spot.
What you'll need
- Your National ID or Passport (parent / guardian).
- A clear copy of the teen's birth certificate or passport.
- The teen's name, date of birth, gender and nationality.
You can skip the document upload at sign-up — but it must be uploaded within 30 days, otherwise the teen's account cannot transact.

Sensible defaults — you can disable enabled services for your teen at any time.

Manage services
Enable or disable Send Money, Buy Airtime, and Lipa na M-PESA on the teen's account.
Manage relationships
Add or remove junior accounts and view all teens linked to your profile.
View account info
See your teen's balance and mini statements.
Daily transaction limits
Set, change, or delete a daily transactional limit for your teen.
Linking a teen to your profile
Dial *334# → My Account → Manage Junior Account → Manage Junior Account Relationship → Add Junior Account. Enter the teen's phone number and date of birth, confirm, then enter your M-PESA PIN. View the teen's last 5 transactions any time from the same menu.
Teens can save with Ziidi MMF
Your teen on M-PESA GO can opt in to Ziidi and save from as little as KSh 100, earning a competitive daily interest. Dial *334# → Financial Services → Ziidi → accept T&Cs → enter PIN.

Good to know
If a line has M-Shwari, KCB M-PESA or Pochi la Biashara, you must clear loans and withdraw any savings before converting it to M-PESA GO.
For requests on the M-PESA GO account — reversals, SIM swaps and similar — the parent must be informed.
Reach Customer Care on 100 or 200 for GSM issues, 234 for M-PESA issues.
